We stayed in the upstairs "Sheriff" room. Since it was New Year's Eve, if anyone got out of line, I was going to have to assume the role. Luckily it was a nice quiet evening. Plenty of parking around back. The in-room window-unit heater/air conditioner worked well. Some nice touches include cable TV, WiFi, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer. Probably need to work on the presentation of the continental breakfast but the milk, cereal and pastries were satisfactory. Checkout was as easy as dropping off the key in an onsite mailbox. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Old West Inn and would stay there again. Kudos to the management who is on Yelp and interacts with customers.

The room was large, clean, comfortable, and affordable; but the staff really put it over the top. Genuinely kind and helpful, especially appreciated because I was there to be close to my son in the hospital across the street.

Happy We Stayed Here!
“Traveling to Willits was about an hour further down the road than we had hoped to drive but after reading the reviews for this hotel, we decided to try it. We were very happy with the hotel; the pride of ownership is evident in how well maintained it is. Our room was clean, the staff were friendly and accomodating and the price was a great bargain. We will make this hotel our first choice when traveling down Hwy 101 in the future.”

Good Value and Clean
“We want to echo the positive comments about our stay at the Old West Inn. We stayed in "The Jail" room (each room has its own theme) and found it spacious and comfortable. There is no street noise because the office blocks it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (needed an extra box of Kleenex because I had a cold). A modest continental breakfast is included. The Yum Yum Tree (Chinese restaurant) is a 10 min. walk away and it was one of the best Chinese restaurants we have been to in a long while.”

“We recently spent a couple of nights in this charming delightful inn while in the area for a wedding. The accommodations were themed, roomy, and very comfortable. The grounds were very well groomed. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the swing on the patio during the night when I couldn't sleep. That was very relaxing. When the owner found out that I was handicapped he upgraded our room from one queen bed to two queen beds, conveniently located adjacent to a handicapped parking space. He moved us to the "Livery Stable" room. As irony would have it, my father-in-law trained race horses in Willits just after WWII and he spent much of his time in the livery stable at the ranch. What a twist!. I am looking for another excuse to travel to Willits and we will stay in the Old West Inn again.”

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Old West Inn about a week ago while traveling to Nevada City. We wanted something inexpensive, but not a trashy motel. He came across this place, and I'm very glad we stayed here.
First off... The place is extremely cute. All of the rooms have names (such as "Bakery", "Jail", "Sheriff", "Doctor", etc...), and it is set up to look like a little old fashioned town. We came to town with two german shepherds, and even though they had booked us in an upstairs room, we requested to be put in a ground floor room since we didn't want to disturb anyone with dogs running back and forth across the room during the night. They were very accomodating, and put us in a ground floor smoking room labeled the "Blacksmith". The decor was quaint and nice, with a little day bed on the other side of the room in case there were more than 1-2 people staying there. The room definitely smelled of smoke (which we were expecting, since we had been warned it was a "smoking room"), but after airing it out for about an hour while we sat outside it was just peachy.
They have a little courtyard area outside with some patio furniture at each end. We ended up meeting another couple who were staying there for the night and had a blast sitting outside at night drinking wine and chatting. I even went inside the lobby at around 8pm trying to find a place that would deliver pizza. The man who was working the counter was very nice and provided me a phone number for a local pizza joint.
The only downside (and this really has nothing to do with the hotel) was that the entire town seems to shut down really early! We hadn't eaten dinner when we arrived in Willits, and couldn't find a place to eat! There's a Burger King next door, but the only thing that's open at 8-9pm is the drive through.

It was a really cute, nice place to stay. I liked that they had a hair dryer (a must for me), mini fridge, and a microwave. Definitely worth the money to stay here!
Fantastic place for what you pay. Cheapest in town, and you get air conditioning, coffee pot and hair dryer in the room, microwave and refrigerator in the room, and continental breakfast (yes, it's only Costco pastries and cereal, but at least they have it). To top it off, there's an old west theme to the buildings and rooms! My favorite place we've stayed so far.
The staff is very friendly and the hotel was really close to town. If we're ever back in Willits, I know where we'll be staying!

Shows pride of ownership. Great value. Offers cereal for breakfast.

Great Place Stay Here If You Have The Opportunity
The room was larger than I am used too. It had a king size bed and a day bed with a trundle. Nice decorated theme rooms. Very quiet. Wide variety of TV channels. Microwave, refrid., free WIFI, clean. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Very reasonably priced. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on while traveling.

Great Deal!
Nice manager. Inexpensive. Room was tidy, clean, and well-equipped with microwave, coffee maker, fridge, and cable TV. The rooms were not theme-based like the outside but seriously, who cares for the money. There was also a day bed with trundle in the room along with the king bed so four could have comfortably slept in the room.
Would definitely stay again. No brainer.

My family and I were on our way to the Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival in Laytonville, and we booked two room for two nights at The Old West Inn. We were delighted with the old west theme. It was quaint and charming. We were pleased with how clean everything was. The bathroom was immaculate! We got there when it was still light in the early evening, and were able to walk nearby for dinner. The inn has a great location.
Everyone associated with the inn was really nice and helpful. Our rooms were a great value! We were very pleased indeed!!!

Stayed here for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised! The staff is super friendly and accommodating, made everything very easy to check in and out, had my reservations and room ready. My room was very clean and comfy and offered things I didn't expect, like a micro and refridg - that actually WORKED! The a/c and heater both worked and the bed was comfy enough to give me a good nights sleep. I am very satisfied and plan on staying there again. My job takes me into that area weekly, so will be frequenting them. The layout of the motel offers a quiet stay, which is oh so welcome, when you desire peace and quiet! Thanks Old West, will be back soon!!

Best $60 Motel Room Ever! Great Deal!
We stopped in Willits for the night on our way from Loleta down to San Francisco, and what a lovely little town! I had read the reviews of The Old West Inn on trip advisor and decided to give it a try. We asked for a king, and our room (the post office) had a king bed, a day bed, and a trundle bed - all for the low, low price of only $60! The room was very big, very clean, everything worked as it should have, and I can't think of one complaint. It's in the middle of town, close to some awesome little placces to eat and shop, and I would most definitely stay there again! I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know who happens to be headed thru Willits and needs a good, cheap, convenient, safe place to stay.

A Must Stay Hotel If You Are In Willits
We loved the look and atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, bright and cheerful. We loved having a microwave, fridge and Wi-Fi in the room. A fantastic value for your money. Convenient to local restaurants and grocery stores.

We stayed here in a jam, and I would be willing to stay again! Very clean, and exactly what we needed. Nothing fancy, but lots of fun.
The staff was great, there was a small fridge and microwave in the room, and FREE WiFi.
Perfect for the price!

Very clean hotel, right in the middle of town, great location.
Very friendly staff, will accommodate for every request.
Great price, saved $40-$50 per night compared to some of the other brand name hotels in town.
Would definitely stay again.

Great Value!
This is a cute little motel with a Western Theme. Each room has a name (Stage Coach, Sheriff, Jail, etc) The rooms are clean and the management is extremely friendly and nice. I liked how they decorated the rooms with antique-like items just to make the rooms look cozy. The rates were extremely reasonable. However, keep in mind that the hotel isn't exactly new. There were only two drawbacks to our stay...the rugs need to be replaced (they were wrinkly and worn) and the continental breakfast isn't anything more than six items: milk, one type of cereal, juice, bananas, coffee, and pastry.
Rogerdob (May 18,2011)
This is not the Fairmont, but it's great for what it is, a nice clean, quite place to get a good nights sleep. I stop here with kids, when ever I'm heading North, to Eureka, breaks up my trip a little. This place is clean, with good prices, HBO and Wifi. I'd call them directly rather then go through Priceline, Obitz, or CheapHotels, for better pricing. First check out price line and then call direct and check on pricing, works for me.
I like these guys, they are always sweet to me, the room is clean, and they offer a continental breakfast of sorts. . . Chez Laura ;-)

This place is really cute! The staff is really nice and helpful. The building and rooms are quirky and have a theme which is fun. A little out of date but clean and I am a clean freak! The price cannot be beat unless you want to stay in a cockroach infested motel!

Nice & Clean
Traveled to Willits to visit family. On a Previous visit stayed at another hotel and was disappointed and it was also expensive. It advertised a home made breakfast with fresh fruit. The food was mediocre at best and there was no fruit. For our next stay we decided to try the Old West Inn. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and very quite. We chose a king bed and there was also a trundle bed in the room. I was staying with my daughter, her teenage daughter and teenage son. These accommodations were perfect for us. The room was large and sat back away from the noisy highway. The management were very friendly and extremely accommodating. This is not an expensive hotel and does not have a lot of frills but it did offer a clean and friendly environment for my family. When traveling to Willits this is the hotel for me and my family.

Very Nice
I chose this hotel based on other reviews. What a pleasure. My room was lovely. Clean and welcoming. The themed rooms are fun. The twig bed frames are beautiful and I want one for my house. lol. Other family members stayed in another room just as nice.
The staff is friendly, the grounds immaculate. The price, fantastic.

Better Than We Expected, Couldn’t Have Been A Better Value
Hubby and I were suppose to be in Fort Bragg but got caught in really bad weather on our way up from San Francisco. We decided to call it a day and stopped in Willits. We checked tripadvisor and priceline for places to stay and decided to stay at The Old West Inn. We just showed up at the front office at 8pm and asked for a room, on a Saturday evening during a long weekend. The guy at the front desk looked very tired but was very gracious and polite. We asked him what the rate was and he charged us $55 including tax for the night. We have been burned badly in the past in small towns when deals were too good to be true, so we were kind of weary about seeing the rooms. Once we walked in we just relaxed. The room was quite spacious, had huge california king , as well as , a day bed. The bathroom was spotless and my husband complained smelled of bleach ( this was music to my ears ). The room was also extremely clean and well maintained.
The furniture is quite dated and nothing special but I think that is the point . We stayed in room 4, with the title doctor outside. For $55 for a night , really cannot complain, it feels like a upgraded motel room.

Unbelievable Price For More Than Decent Room
“My teen daughter and I stayed 2 nights at this motel. The room was clean, had 3 beds, a fridge and microwave. The place is very quiet. Quaint old west theme that isn't too kitschy. Best value and price I've ever paid for a room. I wouldn't say the continental breakfast is anything to look forward to and with the low price of the room, I didn't care. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep, and don't need plush towels and/or spa treatments, this is the place.”

An Unexpected Surprise!
“My wife made the overnight reservation for me using Priceline and it was great! The owners of this small, theme-based hotel work really hard to provide a nice stay. The place is very clean, with little highway noise. The wireless connection is the best of any hotel on this trip - very speedy and reliable. The continental breakfast is nothing spectacular, but a Safeway is just minutes away, walking. The pool is not working and is covered over.
I would stay again in a heartbeat.”
- Woosie78 (August 26, 2010)
“The Old West Inn on the Willits main street is unique and friendly. Rooms open onto a pleasant green hidden from the street, which gives a friendly intimacy to this inexpensive motel with all the amenities. Each room is fresh and specially decorated, owner/staff always available and helpful (for example, Roshan looked online and found the time for the local farmers' market for me), and the continental breakfast is fresh daily. We stay there often!”
- Fran Gardner (August 5th, 2010)
“We didn’t want to drive as far as Willits, but Motels in the redwoods area were priced way high. Checking out other motels between the redwoods and Willits on the internet, I found many negative comments. Going further I scanned the Willits Motels - again many negatives. The Old West Inn however was praised. We called and reserved a room. We arrived after dark and were expected. Excellent Service and genuinely friendly, a charming Room Decor and very clean. Each room has a western business name. Furnished nicely to reflect its theme. Mattress excellent; plenty of room; a decent continental breakfast. We will stay there again - actually looking forward to it. Just driving by I wouldn’t have stopped. I encourage you to stay there and we are recommending it our friends also.

A Nice Balance Of Modern Amenities And Old West Charm
“I was shocked at how nice this family run place is for the price; Clean, quiet, comfortable, attractive and well-appointed with air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave, and free wifi which is a must. My room was the "Saloon" with a bar and stools as the themed piece. A simple continental breakfast of pastries, coffee, cereal, juice was is attractively arranged inside the office. I had work to do so after walking around and taking a few photos I hung the do not disturb sign until checkout with no problem. I regularly pass through this charming little town so will definitely be staying here again.”

Very Nice Management And Clean Rooms
“This is just a standard inexpensive motel, but the management (a family) is really sweet and caring. The rooms were clean, and they open up on a grassy area, instead of the parking lot. Refrigerators and microwaves are in the rooms, which is unusual for a lower end motel.”
- Babsylew Jul 1, 2009
“Helpful and attentive front desk staff, even in the middle of the night, Great value for the money. We would stay here again.”
- Jeanie Graham.
“Roshan has been unbelievably helpful in fulfilling all of our needs. Because of his attentiveness and willingness to help us in any situation. We will recommend all our friends to stay here while traveling. And We will gladly return as well.”
