About this Event
Five days off the grid, mountain biking in the pristine Mendocino Woodlands. This is a choose your own experience retreat designed to allow you to customize which workshops will best optimize your transformation experience. Refine your position on the bike to maximize your efficiency with Brian Astell’s progression of skills clinics. Optimize your mobility, while lengthening and strengthening with Abbie Durkee’s yoga for cyclists sessions. Create new habits and get inspired with hands on nutrition, coaching, and training strategy workshops. Sleep in quaint old rustic redwood cabins, without power or wifi (it’s only 20 minutes away but it feels amazing to step away and reset). Each Cabin sleeps 4 so bring your friends (and get a discount!).
How it works:
When purchasing your ticket you will be charged a base price that covers:
*Lodging in rustic cabins in the Woodlands
*Incredible Fresh Food and non-alcoholic beverages
*Access to knowledgeable guides, coaches and experts
*Social campfire setting to engage with like-minded awesome people
*Some of the finest singletrack around
You can then schedule yourself for as few or many of the workshops as you would like to attend. Each Workshop is designed to help you implement long term changes to optimize your balanced bike lifestyle.
Once you design the flow of your retreat, you can choose other add-ons such as bike rentals, guided rides, or GPS routes. There will be additional add-ons available closer to the event such as: rental extras, massages, and swag.
We want this to be a truly transforming experience that awakens your senses and helps your reach your potential on the bike and in life.
What is the riding like?
The Mendocino Woodlands are located in Jackson State Forest. With over 190 miles of singletrack in one of California’s largest Redwood forests, it is a treasure trove of adventure. With incredible loamy twisty trails looping around the Woodlands there will be many trails you will want to ride more than once over your stay, but we’ll have enough awesome routes accessible that you can ride as long or as short as you like and will surely want to come back for more.
What are my transportation options for getting to and from the event?
The Mendocino Woodlands is located just outside of the coastal town of Mendocino. We recommend planning your trip to give yourself plenty of extra time to enjoy the town and coastline before arriving to the Woodlands. If flying into the Bay Area, we recommend Santa Rosa (if you can find a connection) or SFO or Oakland Airports. Renting a car and enjoying the scenic drive to the Woodlands with your friends will be the most enjoyable as the roads are windy and mass transportation is not recommended or readily available.
How Rustic are the accommodations?
We have absolutely fallen in love with the simplistic charm of the Woodlands camp with cabins made from the trees in the grove back in the 1930’s. With a little preparedness they are more cozy and comfortable then camping, but not really glamping. There are facilities nested in each pod of cabins with electricity, flush toilets, private showers with changing space, sinks, and mirrors that make it reasonably comfortable.
What should I bring into the event?
We will send you a detailed packing list before the event. Here is a generalized list to get you started:
Bedding, toiletries, layers of clothing, bike, ride gear, & BYOB (you are welcome to partake in the evenings, alcohol is just not included).
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Nope! As long as your name is on your ticket, you will be on our list at registration.
